Chester

After the day out to the north of Liverpool yesterday, we headed south to Chester. Again on the Merseyrail, but this time we were double charged because we tapped in in Liverpool Central, but we couldn't tap out in Chester so had to buy a day ticket there, plus the maximum day fare for tapping in, but not tapping out.

Chester is a lovely town with a wonderful Cathedral and old town centre with the tiered shops making it really feel like going back in time a few hundred years.

There are also city walls you can walk around and what remains of roman amphitheatre. A great place to visit for a day.
